All of our mastiffs are well trained although each is able to 'get away' with something. I have taught each of them as pups to be comfortable with lots of touching and as such when its time to do their nails or clean ears they are good sports. They are extremely gentle and they adore their family, each of them is 'gentle mouthed' and can take a 'cookie' straight from my lips without touching - they all have a repertoire of tricks and are pretty funny. Amadeus is the thickest and it took him 17 months to learn to shake a paw, not that he is stupid - he just isn't particularly interested in tricks especially when he figured out he will get a treat anyway

Razr's Edge - Razr is a 'doofus' - he is gentle and kind and does not realize how big he really is so he is forever knocking someone over. He is happy about everything, loves everyone and gets along just great with the rest of our mastiffs. Razr is a fawn brindle and is 'drop dead' good looking with a super mask, nice square features and an incredibly huge bone structure. Razr is currently enrolled in Flyball classes and is amazingly good at it - though he does look pretty funny mixed in with all the spaniels and border collies..

Amadues Mozart - he is our Deus- he thinks he is the 'Lion King' and has us thinking that too - if he were a girl he would be a diva. He is huge, lumbering and formidable with a positively massive head but is all 'baby' - when he is 'put out' about something he lies in his crate whining under his breath until he gets his way. He loves to cuddle and Elsie is his very best friend - he puts up with anything from her. Amadeus is a Daddy's boy. If you ask Amadeus 'who's your daddy' he will lift his huge paw and put it in his Dad's lap. I think he and Elsie know they are both "Neo’s” and are even closer than a 'usual' dog relationship. Amadeus’s mahogany color is not that common and he attracts continuous comments on his good looks.

Murphy's Law - Murphy is the 'man', and a gentlemen he is. Murphy turns 8 this summer. He is our senior citizen and is quite content to go outside, do his business and come right back in. Murphy is slowly losing his sight and hearing and is often found gazing off into the distance with absolutely no idea what he is looking at, he hears vibrations well and still responds to a loud voice but as his eyes are not so good you need to jump up and down while hollaring for him so he can find you. Besides sleeping and chewing bones his favourite thing is to bury his head in either your lap or your armpit and refuse to leave so that you have to give him lots of scratches and rubs. Murphy's love of beef bones is unlike any other - he gets so excited he runs into the wall or whatever else is in his way. Murphy's best friend is me - he is a most devoted and is the love of my life. He is the 'toast crust' king and we have to give him the crusts or the wailing gets pretty loud.

Elsie Blue - Elsie is our most 'difficult' dog - she is by far the brightest and as such is also the hardest to deal with at times. She bosses all the 'boy' dogs and is just as strong as they are despite her smaller stature and she can wrestle with the best of them. She is our 'Fun Police' - if any of the dogs are having to much fun she will put a stop to it - this is a nice way of saying she is a bully:) She is 'Momma's girl' and I have a special spot for her. When she was a pup she was so bad she thought her name was 'Elsie No' - she caused as much trouble as possible and for a while I was the only one who even liked her. Once we figured out that she needed to channel her energy and must be constantly challenged everything was a whole lot better. As such, Elsie has the biggest bag of tricks of them all and can con her way into doing anything she wants. Amadues is the love of Elsie's life and where he is she will be. Elsie is sheer muscle, excellent confirmation and is a beautiful blue Neo.

Yukon Chi'dree (pronounced Shee dree) is our latest addition and comes from Hug a Mug Mastiffs in Missouri - we are so excited to have her, she is an eager adventerous girl who can find trouble where ever she goes. She is an eternal great sport and never complains about anything. She adores all our adult mastiffs and loves to play. She is fearless and bold and very very big - her tail clears (as in clears...) our kitchen table no problem. Her Olde English bloodlines are very obvious - she is going to be a very big girl, she is 179lbs at 12 mos. I have no doubt she will be very close to 200 lb's by the time she is all finished. We look very forward to her first litter next year.

Bella is Bella Lagusso and she is our diva - she is 5 and spayed. She is absolutely beautiful and loves people more than anything on earth; she is convinced all of our company is there to see her. She loves stuffies and has kept her 'Barney' for many years. She thinks she is a lab and spends all her time wandering around with something in her mouth. Bella is the 'boss' around the yard and helps herself to whatever she wants - including all the beef scraps and bones everyone else has - she knows better than to 'steal' when I am out there but as soon as I am gone or in the house everybody else's goodies become hers - she is a regular pain in the butt. She gained weight when she was spayed which is not unusual however now with the stealing she is very overweight - she looks very funny with her huge body - it makes her head look tiny and we have taken up calling her 'pinhead'.

Our cats - we have Ringo - who is 11, spoiled rotten and a big pain in the butt. He is however the most amazing cat to raise dogs with. He has no fear whatsoever and he is the 'puppy trainer' around here. He has taught all our mastiffs that chasing cats is pointless as he refuses to run - he usually just lies down and plays dead. He spends most of his time sleeping or prowling the yard, and often trying to get the dogs to 'lick' his head. Jinxi is our secret agent kitty, and is forever lurking or sneaking around and about, it’s been 4 years and we still haven't figured out why she does it but she does. She loves it outside and is out all the time. She loves to wind herself around the dog’s legs, catch mice and sun herself in the trees.
Each of our mastiffs is both unique in looks and in personality. They are individual members of our family and while I do have a kennel facility they only use it in the summer for the air conditioning, otherwise they all live in the house. They are all crate trained and I would not do it any other way. I (most of the time - I have been known to cheat and spoil them) apply the Dog Whisperer (Cesar Milan) principles of balance and training and our mastiffs all get along. Inside - they are on the couch, chair, mat or the bed or lying right in front of the kitchen counters so you can trip on them regularly.
